Message from the chairs
We had the great pleasure to welcome all participants to the 7th IFIP Wireless and Mobile Networking Conference. (WMNC 2014), organized by the University of Coimbra, and held in Vilamoura, Portugal, May 20 – 22, 2014. WMNC 2014 was sponsored by IFIP TC6, and technically co-‐sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society.
The aim of WMNC 2014 was to provide a forum for discussion between researchers, practitioners, and students interested in new developments in mobile and wireless networks, services, and applications, and in mobile computing. With this aim, a call for papers was published resulting in 82 paper submissions, which were carefully reviewed by technical program committee members and additional reviewers. We would like to thank them for over 200 meticulous reviews.
We have been able to put together a very interesting program with 3 keynote presentations by highly respected and distinguished speakers, 5 regular sessions with all together 27 presentations, and 2 short paper / poster sessions with 14 presented posters on work in progress.
We would like to thank IFIP TC6 and the IEEE Communication Society for their sponsorship. This event would not have been possible without the help of all volunteers from University of Coimbra. We would like to thank them for all the effort they put in organizing this event. We hope that all attendees have enjoyed the scientific and social program, as well as the beautiful region of Algarve.
